A halter bra has straps that run up and around the back of your neck instead of over your shoulders. It’s made to hide under halter-neck tops and dresses that leave the shoulders bare. Many convertible and strapless bras can be worn as a halter by clipping the straps around your neck.

How to wear a bra as a halter
- Unclip both straps at the back.
- Bring them up over your shoulders and fasten them behind your neck (or use one long strap clipped at both front loops).
- Tighten the band one hook so it does most of the work.
- Adjust the neck strap so it’s snug but not pulling your head forward.
Wacoal says the band does about 70% of a bra’s support, and that matters even more in a halter, because a loose band shifts weight onto your neck.
