The biggest bra sizes in regular ranges go up to a UK K cup, which US brands label O. That means a bust about 15 inches bigger than the band. Bands at most brands stop at 44 or 46. Some specialist makers may go further, but they’re the exception.
How big do bra cups go?
Cup letters follow a simple rule: each one adds about an inch between bust and band. In theory, the alphabet keeps going. In practice, brands stop where demand and manufacturing meet. These are the stated ranges we checked:
| Brand | Stated cup range | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Freya | B to K (UK); B to O (US letters) | Bands 28 to 44 on its conversion chart |
| Panache | Up to K (UK); up to O (US letters) | Band range not confirmed |
| Curvy Kate | D to K (UK) | Bands 28 to 44, grid up to 46 |
| Victoria’s Secret | A to O (US) | Bands 30 to 46 |
| Wacoal America | A to I (US) | Bands 30 to 46 |
So UK K and US O are the same cup, and that’s the top of the stated ranges here. Not every style comes in every cup, so check the size selector on the product you want. Our brand size guides go into each brand in more detail.
Why a UK K is a US O
US and UK letters split after DD. The UK doubles some letters (FF, GG, HH, JJ), while the US adds Ds (DDD) and then runs through G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N and O. By the time you reach a 15-inch difference, the UK says K and the US says O.
| Bust minus band | US | UK | EU |
|---|---|---|---|
| 11 in | K | H | K |
| 12 in | L | HH | L |
| 13 in | M | J | M |
| 14 in | N | JJ | N |
| 15 in | O | K | O |

What’s the biggest band size?
Most ranges stop at a 44 or 46 band. Victoria’s Secret and Wacoal both state bands up to 46. Curvy Kate’s fitting text says 28 to 44, while its size grid lists bands up to 46. Our calculator supports bands up to 48, using the same no-added-inches method as the rest of the site.
If your underbust is above the largest band a brand makes, the sister size trick won’t help, because it needs a bigger band. Instead, look for brands that specialize in plus sizes or offer custom sizing.
What does our calculator do at the top of the range?
The calculator gives sizes up to a UK K from published brand charts. It also extends the one-inch-per-cup pattern two steps further, to UK KK and L, and labels those results as extrapolated. That means the letter follows the pattern, but few brands make the size, so check the brand’s own chart before buying. Our sizing method explains the full rule.
Is “biggest bra size” the same as biggest breasts?
No. A bra size describes two measurements: band and cup difference. A 30K and a 46K have very different cup volumes, because cups grow with the band. The bra size chart shows how cup volume changes across bands, and our guide to the average bra size explains why there’s no reliable figure for the middle of the range.
Shopping at the top of the range
If you wear a size near the top of a brand’s range:
- Shop in UK sizing. UK fuller-bust brands make more styles at the high end and label them in UK letters.
- Convert carefully. A UK J is a US M. Use our bra size converter rather than guessing.
- Look for build quality: seamed cups, side panels, deep bands and padded straps.
- Check returns. At the edges of a range, fit varies more between styles.
