The best bra for a tube top is a strapless bra with a firm band, silicone grip and a straight top edge that sits just below the tube top’s neckline. If your tube top is thin or clingy, an adhesive bra avoids a band line. If you’re a smaller cup and want light coverage, a bandeau is enough.

Strapless bras: the most support
A strapless bra relies on the band alone, so it has to fit more firmly than an everyday bra. Wacoal says the band does about 70% of the work in a regular bra; in a strapless one it’s nearly all of it. Look for:
- A wide band with three or more hooks.
- Silicone grip along the top edge and band.
- Side boning to keep the band upright.
- A straight or slightly curved neckline that matches the tube top.

Bandeaus: comfort for smaller cups

Adhesive bras: no band at all

How to stop a tube top and bra slipping together
- Wear the bra slightly higher than the tube top’s edge so the top covers it, then smooth the top down over the bra’s grip.
- Use the tighter hook on a strapless bra for long events.
- Pick a tube top with its own grip or elastic at the top edge.
- Try fashion tape on the inside edge of the tube top for a strapless-on-strapless combination.
