Amitabh’s biography began in 1942 in the family of a poet-translator and a fighter against religious and class prejudices, Harivansh Rai Srivastava and Teiji Suri, assistant to the Prime Minister Indira Gandhi .
The nickname Bachchan (“angry”) was given to the actor’s father, who had a tough disposition, by his mother. Amitabh in his youth was known as the “Angry Young Man”.
Personal life
In the personal life of Amitabh, passions raged no less than in Indian TV shows. In 1972, on the set of Doll, he met Jaya Bhaduri, but romance was out of the question.
